Lewis Burns is from the town of Dubbo, Australia, about a five hours drive beyond the Blue Mountains north west of Sydney. We've known him as a friend for many years and enjoy having his didgeridoos on offer. And yes, if you know me well, then you know I even named one of my dogs "Dubbo" after the town Lewis lives in. Lewis is a Wiradjuri aboriginal man, an "old school" fella that goes bush to suss out good hollow eucalyptus trees with just an axe and a hand saw (no 01-eucpntdlb02-root.jpgchainsaw).

Decorated with a sea turtle, water bubbles, and clan designs signifcant to Lewis' tribal affiliation. The artwork at top has been fire-tattooed into the natural wood grain. The bottom half is painted with aboriginal symbols for billabongs (water marshes). It features a "footed" root bell end that allows this didgeridoo to stand upright on it's own natural base (see the close-up photos at left and right for better look). The footprint of the root end measures 14" by 9.5" wide. Didgeridoos with root bells can be hard to find, so we expect that this one may find a lucky owner very quickly (don't ruminate over it too long if you want it.) And remember, even with this large root bell end we'll ship it for free fully insured if you're in the contental U.S.!

Crafted from termite hollowed eucalyptus in New South Wales, Australia. It was made by Lewis in 2001 and is in very fine condition with a brand new mouthpiece and a new polyurethane finish. The interior bore is clear which increases volume, harmonics, and clarity of tone. A semi-gloss finish protects the wood and artwork from the elements. Fitted with an organic beeswax mouthpiece sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). The mouthpiece can easily be adjusted to fit you perfectly. Instructions included, no worries.

Soundwise: High Quality

A spot-on D in perfect pitch that's super easy to play. Warm jets of healing vibes and gravel-voiced billows of sonic clouds waft through this very vocal didgeridoo. It prefers to play slower to moderately-paced riddims, and would make a great instrument for chilling out or providing a sonic atmosphere during yoga class. Overall, the acoustics lean towards the raw rather than polished end of the spectrum with gritty vocals and soundwave distortion effects. Two soft horn tones. Simply a brilliant player, and you'd be hard pressed to find another one like it anywhere else in this price category. Optimal strong-medium backpressure makes the circular breathing technique easier. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
