This darkly handsome HIGH QUALITY didgeridoo just arrived from Australia! The key falls right between low Bb and A making it one of the DEEPEST DRONING and HAUNTINGLY RESONANT players that we currently have on offer. It's from a special purchase of didges made by Derwood Yumundi. Derwood does all of the crafting by hand, from sussing out the termite-hollowed trees, cutting them with an axe instead of a chainsaw, skinning the bark and finishing them up. This one features a serpent that's been deeply carved in relief, exposing the lighter sapwood beneath the surface. All of the natural bark has been left on the bottom end for a bit of organic deco. The bark is sealed so very little will flake off over the years.
Derwood is a bit reclusive by nature, so our friend Colin drives way out bush to visit him and collect our orders. He also "test drives" the new didgeridoos for us to make sure we get the best sounding ones in the swag. We've been sourcing Australian eucalyptus didgeridoos this way for most of our 18 years in the didgeridoo community. Keeps things easy, fair, and direct.
Crafted from termite hollowed eucalyptus in Australia's S. Queensland. The interior bore is very clear and open which increases volume, harmonics, and clarity of tone. A clear finish protects the wood from the elements. Fitted with an organic beeswax mouthpiece sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). The mouthpiece can easily be adjusted to fit you perfectly. Instructions included, no worries.
Soundwise: High Quality
This low pitched didgeridoo offers a "tubey" reverb ambience. If you could play it right now and hear its LOW, MOANING DRONE you'd buy it straight away! It has a narrow profile so it's not super loud, but the warmth and depth make it a desireable intruments for playing slow, meditative grooves. This didge creates an organic, inviting sonic space to send your ears and your imagination on a vision quest. Vocal response is remarkable in the high to midrange frequencies (great for dingo howls and kookaburra calls) with arresting guttural attacks and shimmering harmonics to balance out its acoustic qualities. The first trumpet toot is warm to the drone and the overblown note is very stable making it easy to incorporate into rhythms. Optimal strong backpressure makes the circular breathing technique easier. Very easy to play so we reckon it's gonna go fast. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
