Watch a VIDEO demo of this yidaki below!

Djalu made and
painted this sonically fierce yidaki. The artwork
represents Gälpu clan designs that are very significant to his tribe. Djalu is the ceremonial
leader and senior lawman for the Gälpu clan, and is world renowned
for his crafting and playing skills. Older instruments of excellent provenance
like this one are highly sought after, especially if painted by Djalu
himself. This is an "old school" instrument in good condition with no repairs or retouching. Crafted from termite hollowed eucalyptus in remote N.E. Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia.
The bell or distal end is very clear which increases volume, harmonics,
and clarity of tone. This yidaki features a natural mouthpiece that's been sanitized
with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). No beeswax needed. The timber is well seasoned, and very fine yidaki by Djalu are found on offer less and less these days. They are not only awesome to play, but a very good investment as well. |

Soundwise: Performance quality sound. With its classic conical bore, thick walls and narrow neck, it prefers to play faster tempos. It responds exceedingly well to hard tongue riddims and hits multiple horn toots effortlessly! Good
vocal response in the
midrange to high frequencies with
growly distortion effects, blunt diaphragmatic bursts, and a bit of grind. This is a highly impressive yidaki that's truly enjoyable to play, especially if you study traditional hard tongue rhythms. Perfect backpressure for
its size and pitch make the circular
breathing technique easeful.
Four easy horn tones, the first
being warm against the drone. It's a gruff, raw, traditional sounding yidaki at a fair price for this quality and provenance. Many of you know how quickly an instrument like this one can sell, so please don't hesitate to contact
us if you have any questions
or would like a demo over
the phone. 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed.
UPS Ground shipping and insurance on this didgeridoo is $36.40 due to the size of the box and the thick padding of bubbles needed to protect it in transport to you. |
