Concert Quality Yidaki from Australia
|
|
Crafted by Frank Thill

The red dot on the Australian map at left shows the region where this didgeridoo came from. Frank crafted this highly collectable yidaki (a didgeridoo from
Australia's north east Arnhem Land) to perfection! This THUNDER STICK is
prized for its dramatic conical shaped bore, its flawless and well seasoned
timber, and its concert quality sound. A bit of push and the volume is off the hook! It's one of the MOST DEADLY instruments I've ever played. Stop reading and grab it now if you see your name on it (and before I decide to just keep it).

Frank worked with master crafter Djalu Gurruwiwi on many yidaki
until Frank received Djalu's blessing to craft proper instruments
on his own. This yidaki was made around 1996 during the onset of Frank's
worldwide recognition as a master craftsman. This is a very big and powerful
yidaki that's been held in a private collection. Painted by Djalu's wife, Dhopia, featuring two lizards protecting their eggs, with fine crosshatch line work. It is in excellent condition
with just a few minor blemishes. It has a natural mouthpiece sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). No beeswax needed. |
Soundwise: Concert quality sound and playability. Rare and wonderful. On the dirty
side acoustically and oh, so easy to get the best out of it straight away!
Defying its high pitch you get heaps of bass frequencies which
make it sound like a deeper didge (one of my favorite characteristics in a fine yidaki). Aggressive vocal distortion effects
and a resonant, rocketship drone that'll peel the paint off your walls.
Built to be played in the traditional hard tongue style, this yidaki offers
whip-snapping response to tongued and diaphragmatic riddims. Four easy
horn tones, the first being warm against the drone and always ready to
toot. Incredibly loud and powerful when pushed. Absolutely perfect backpressure
for its size and pitch (making the circular breathing technique easier).
Very collectable, and Frank no longer crafts yidaki so these come along very rarely. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or would
like a demo over the phone. 100%

UPS Ground shipping and insurance on this didgeridoo is $48.80 due to the amount of insurance required, its length and big bell diameter, the size of the box, and the thick padding of bubbles needed to protect it in transport to you.
