Concert Quality Yidaki from Australia

Crafted by Djalu Gurruwiwi (Gälpu aboriginal)

Watch a VIDEO demo of this didgeridoo below!

The red dot on the Australian map at left shows the region where this didgeridoo came from. Djalu made and
painted this sonically fierce yidaki (didgeridoo) circa 2004. Previously held in a private collection, this instrument will draw heaps of attention from serious collectors. This is a classic Djalu yidaki from back in the day–– big, heavy, thick walled and LOUD. It responds equally well to both traditional hard tongue style or contemporary style rhythms.

The artwork
represents Gälpu clan designs that are very significant to his tribe. Djalu is the ceremonial
leader and senior lawman for the Gälpu clan, and is world renowned
for his crafting and playing skills. Older instruments of excellent provenance
like this one are highly sought after, especially if painted by Djalu
himself. This is an "old school" instrument in good condition with no repairs, retouching or work/oiling done to the bore or exterior. Crafted from termite hollowed eucalyptus in remote N.E. Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia.
The bell or distal end is very clear which increases volume, harmonics,
and clarity of tone. Fitted with an
organic beeswax mouthpiece sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and
lavender oil). The mouthpiece can easily be adjusted to fit you perfectly.
Instructions included, no worries. Well seasoned yidaki by Djalu are found on offer less and less these days. They are not only awesome to play, but a very good investment as well. |

Soundwise: Concert quality sound and playability with throaty tones and boomy bass
frequencies. Watch the video below and listen to the INCREDIBLE HARMONICS which are nearly as loud as the drone! The radiant high voltage tone
and brilliant vocal response make it awesome for dingo howls, kookaburra
calls, and otherworldly echoes. It's a superbly crafted, entrancing didgeridoo
with a "widescreen" sonic range that can offer up sounds from
cosmic and beautiful to shadowy and ominous. Very good backpressure for ease in circular breathing. Two ever-ready horn tones, both warm against the
drone. A very handsome yidaki with an astonishing presence. May sell rather quickly so don't hesitate if the looks and sound quality appeal to you. Please contact us if you have
any questions or would like a demo over the phone. 100% Satisfaction
