Performance Quality Yidaki from Australia

Watch a VIDEO demo of this yidaki below!

The red dot on the Australian map at left shows the region where this yidaki came from. Dhapa made this handsome instrument from a stringybark eucalyptus tree in Australia's north east Arnhem Land. The artwork features Yolngu body paint designs. This is a TOP GRADE yidaki with a straight, clear, natural bore. Superior, perfectly balanced acoustics give this didgeridoo the highest mark of concert quality. Suitable for any player from the
beginner to advanced level. This "old
school" instrument is in excellent
condition, much more collectable
than your average didgeridoo,
and we honor that by using the
proper Yolngu word for didgeridoo,
"yidaki", here. Painted with natural ochres (earth pigments). The bell or distal end is
very clear and open which increases volume, harmonics, and clarity of
tone. Features a perfect natural mouthpiece that's been sanitized
with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). |
Soundwise: Performance quality sound. Pitched in F with a matching F horn toot! Press your flaming lips on this firecracker and you'll get high frequency insectile buzzes and snappy response to tongued
and diaphragmatic beats. Infused with sweet,
bouncy phase shifts and scattershot vocal/diaphragmatic hits. Perfect for someone that wants to develop their chops for speed! And if you want a sweet-hot yidaki for playing in drum circles then here's your new axe, bro. Plus, it's not a big or heavy instrument so it'll be easy to carry around. Two
quick horn tones, both bright against
the drone. Good backpressure
for its size and pitch make the circular breathing technique
easier.
