"Garma Journey"
Concert Quality Didgeridoo from Australia
|
|
Memawuy Munyarryun

The red dot on the Australian map at left shows the region where this yidaki came from. The artwork features two brackish water (garma) fish and water reeds, with some of the natural wood grain exposed. Memawuy is brother to many of our well known yidaki makers from the hardworking community of Dhalinybuy, including Mirrwatnga, Gurraramawuy, Buwathay and Djakapurra. His yidaki are among the best coming from the community. This handsome instrument has fairly thin walls that give off heaps of RESONANCE, along with an ensconcing tone and playability that can be hard to find. Grab it quick, mate! This didgeridoo was crafted from
termite hollowed eucalyptus. Superior, perfectly balanced acoustics give this didgeridoo the highest mark of concert quality. Suitable for any player from the
beginner to advanced level. This "old
school" instrument is in excellent
condition, much more collectable
than your average didgeridoo,
and we honor that by using the
proper Yolngu word for didgeridoo,
"yidaki", here. Painted with natural ochres (earth pigments). The bell or distal end is
very clear and open which increases volume, harmonics, and clarity of
tone. Features a perfect natural mouthpiece that's been sanitized
with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). |

Soundwise: Concert quality sound. This LOUD rip-stick shreds the airwaves with its craggy, twisted bore and is truly easy to play! It would be perfect
for someone wanting an awesome professional level didgeridoo that's also light in weight and easy to carry around. It has perfectly
balanced acoustics and it's very tempo-versatile. Loud enough to play in any drum circle! Three
easy horn tones that are fairly bright against
the drone. Perfect backpressure
for its size and pitch make the circular breathing technique
easier, especially for a novice.
