Gourd Didgeridoo #GF639
Concert Quality Didgeridoo

Crafted by Geoff Frost

Geoff put his crafting skills on the map when he began making didgeridoos out of gourds some years ago. The process of seamlessly fitting together multiple snake gourds into a solid yet shapely musical instrument is now Geoff's signature work. A snake gourd is the hard shell of a dried vine-grown fruit. Many musical instruments use gourds as resonating chambers, i.e. the Brazilian berimbau, various stringed instruments and drums. Using smaller to larger gourds from end to end creates a narrow neck for good backpressure, widening to a very large bell at the bottom. The thin walls give off heaps of resonating tone colors. We've know Geoff for many years and his didgeridoo crafting has reached premium heights. This didge is super light in weight so you can easily take it with you on walkabouts, to drum circles, or jam sessions with friends. Solid, gorgeous
finish. Double resin coated inside
and out for enhanced sound quality,
luster and durability. Features a smooth and comfortable mouthpiece made of cherry wood that's been sanitized
with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). No beeswax needed. This
didgeridoo is
waterproof, unaffected by hot or cold
weather conditions, and very easy
to care for, no worries. |
Soundwise: Concert quality sound with rippling highs, drummy lows, and HEAPS OF VOLUME!
Easy to get the best out of it straight
away. The trance-inducing thrum
of the drone, shamanistic vocal
mutterings and tongued percussive
beats make the sonics in this didgeridoo
swirl, bleep, and dance with a delirious
verve. This instrument has well
balanced acoustics with spicy, eerie
and expansive reverberations. Three
horn toots, the first two being
very easy to hit and each of them
warm against the drone. Perfect
backpressure for its size and pitch
making the circular breathing technique more easeful. May not
last long now that it's pictured
on the website and ready to rumble.
