Butler was all over the place meeting and greeting
the packed house of nice folks who came to watch,
listen and play his awesome didgeridoo creations.
It was a great evening. Pictured above is Chad
with 5 of his new didgeridoos. There were others,
but they sold before we could get shots of him
playing them! Chad crafts his instruments out
of fallen tree branches around his home (a yurt)
in Oregon. Alderwood, Maple and other wood limbs
are split, hollowed, rejoined and sealed entirely
by hand. They sound amazing, and Chad is no stranger
to what makes a didgeridoo buzz. He's also no
stranger to woodworking, being a cobbler by trade.
We think the world could go without shoes if it
means that Chad will be making didgeridoos instead. |

Ozan (on left) is a 9 year old Native American
flute player who happens to live just up the
street from our shop. He and Chad's 11 year
old son, Eli (on right), played a few duets
for us during the evening. They were stellar,
especially considering that they had only
rehearsed for about a half hour earlier in
the day. Thank you, boys, for sharing your
musical spirit and skill with us.

John
(pictured at right) nearly lost sleep over
not buying this gorgeous 8' tall didgeridoo
from Chad's collection that night, so he
came back first thing in the morning and
got it. Thanks, John. We were looking forward
to having this great didj be a sort of centerpiece
in the shop for a while, but we're also
glad that John found a new didgeridoo that
truly suited him.
