Barry plays didgeridoo on Alphanaut's "Out of Orbit" album Recording under the name Alphanaut, Mark of LA Outback has been working on his first full length album for over two years and he documented the progress on Youtube. Barry leant his talents playing didgeridoo on an ambient piece titled "AL 424-15" which will actually be released as a bonus cut to the first single "Never Been To Athens". - December 2009
One of two didgeridoo solo clips by Aboriginal didj player William Barton
during his visit to Los Angeles. This was shot when William was in the
US playing for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. This clip was filmed in
the LA Outback tiki hut the evening after his show.

Michael Jackson Plays "Control Freak" Mike recently visited us here in L.A. where we hosted a concert and workshop by him. He lives near Katoomba in Australia's Blue Mountains west of Sydney.
Mike is a truly nice fella and we had a great visit. He is one of few that can play didge riddims at such velocity that, well... first shocks and then totally mesmerizes you! Have a look and listen to his song "Control Freak" shot in our backyard tiki hut. Just don't try this at home.
Michael Jackson Plays "Steam Train" Another absolutely ripper riddim that nearly defies possibility. Aside from being a white-hot didgeridoo player, Mike is also an archaeologist involved in the discovery, documentation and preservation of aboriginal rock art sites. Being out in the "bush" for extended periods affords Mike the chance to practice in the wild. That must be truly inspiring!

Pro Skateboarder Jake Brown Learns Didgeridoo From Michael Jackson
When Michael Jackson was here during the summer of 2008 we filmed him teaching professional skateboarder Jake Brown how to play didgeridoo. This clip was from our behind the scenes footage as the MTV camera crews filmed Jake for a reality program.
The Australian Aboriginal dance group 'Indid Dance' performed at an event in Los Angeles that LA Outback helped organize. The group is made up of a family of singers, dancers and didgeridoo and this is the third segment from their presentation. This piece features Ryka playing his eucalyptus didjeridu.
Ryka Ali, the didgeridu player for the Indij Dance group, demonstrates
how to play didgeridoo including circular breathing for a handful of
eager students. This was filmed at the Australia Day event in Los Angeles during the summer of 2007 when the group happened to be in town.
Jeremy Donovan & Ryka Ali improvise a didgeridoo duet shortly after meeting each other for the first time. Filmed here at L.A.Outback in our backyard "tiki hut". Jeremy is already world famous as a ripping didgeridoo player and aboriginal artist of Kuku Yalanji descent (northern Queensland, Australia). And Ryka, at 17 years old, is fast becoming recognized as a terrific didge player and traditional dancer. Ryka is Yindinji aboriginal, also from northern Queensland, Australia.
Our
mate Steve lives just south of Sydney in Australia. Steve has a true blue,
sunny disposition and loves to make "slice of life" videos on
YouTube under the name "Englishteaboy". We bought Steve a didgeridoo after seeing him
playing a vacuum cleaner tube in one of his videos. He was stoked to
get a real didge and this is the first video he's made since receiving
it. The bit with the didge starts halfway into the video, so sit back,
relax, and get to know our didgeri-bro Steve.
The
propmaster for this film rented 7 didgeridoos from us for the movie, which
spoofs "Walk the Line". Actor John C. Riley plays a country/rock
star from young boy to old age. In one scene he goes through a Brian Wilson/Phil
Spector phase and demands 50,000 didgeridoos for his next album. There
is one quick shot of an actor "playing" the didgeridoo with an
orchestra. At left is a trailer for the film. Pause the
video at 2:50 and you can see (though not very clearly) some of the
didges they rented for the scenes.
The production company that made this ad rented 7 didges from us for the shoot, and while many were more "traditional" looking instruments, the director picked the most colorful one (probably to look better with the actor's wig).
Don't stress over the meaning or the message here. Wendy's entire campaign at present is geared to evoke a "what in the world are they getting at" response. It works, too, because that's exactly what people say when they watch these commercials.
