"Yindi Yawuny"
Concert Quality Vintage Yidaki
Crafted by Ngongu GanambarrWatch a VIDEO demo of this didgeridoo below!

Ngongu Ganambarr crafted and decorated this awesome sounding instrument from a big stringybark eucalyptus tree. Made by hand in the traditional manner; no power tools were used to create this instrument and the paint was hand made from natural earth pigments (ochres). The artwork represents the way the escarpment rises and falls in the scrubby country of Ngongu's homeland.
Ngongu is the son of the elder clan leader for the Datiwuy mala (clan). He lives at the Dhalinybuy outstation in a very remote area of Australia's Northern Territory. His work is consistently excellent with natural bores, small natural mouthpieces and excellent playing qualities. He is a talented yidaki player, dancer, singer and hunter. And if you are new to the didgeridoo, Ngongu is very well established as one of the best yidaki crafters in the world. This
is an "old school" instrument, much more collectable than your average
didgeridoo, and we honor that by using the proper Yolngu word for
didgeridoo, "yidaki", here. A treasure for its sound, size, condition,
well seasoned timber, and provenance. The interior bore is very clear
and open which increases volume, harmonics, and clarity of tone.
Features a natural mouthpiece sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). No beeswax needed.
Soundwise: Concert Quality
This big old yidaki delivers a rock steady
drone and warm harmonics. A real stinger, mate, and one of
the most sonically versatile instruments we currently have on offer.
Unbelievably responsive to tongued riddims and trill, this yidaki offers
a BIG VOICE with feisty vocal distortion effects and a sonically hot,
resonant drone. Bright and malleable tone colors. Four super easy horn
toots! VERY LOUD and powerful when pushed, soft and lulling when played
with a more relaxed breath. Truly a fine instrument and on offer for a
very fair price considering its collectibility, sound quality,
craftsmanship, and well seasoned timber. And like fine old guitars that just keep
sounding better with age, you only rarely find a yidaki like this on
offer. It has strong backpressure which is optimal for its size and pitch and allows for easier circular breathing. Likely to sell quickly so please don't hesitate to contact us
if you have any questions. Read our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
Includes Certificate of Authenticity, care guide and playing guide.
