"Thunder Ridge"
Concert Quality Didgeridoo
Crafted by Bill HarneyWatch a VIDEO demo of this didgeridoo below!
This HIGHLY RESONANT, CONCERT QUALITY, age-seasoned didgeridoo by Wardaman elder Yidumduma "Bill" Harney is a pure delight to play! It may the best didgeridoo by old Bill that I've ever played. Acquired from the Debra Wilson collection, this didgeridoo is in very good condition and has no repair work because it's never needed any. The mouthpiece is made from the dark wax found on many instruments from this area of Arnhem Land. The artwork features a bush plant motif in Bill's wide, signature rarrk, or crosshatch lines. All of the natural bark has been left on the bottom for a truly organic look and feel. The bark has been sealed so it won't flake off.
Bill Harney (pictured at right) is an aboriginal elder, master storyteller, painter, and highly respected Wardaman Dreamtime authority. For many Australian aborigines, dreaming is a way of being that is always informed by a spiritual presence. In the aboriginal concept of "The Dreaming," all life exists within a state that blends past, present and future simultaneously. The essence of this is evoked by playing the didgeridoo.
This instrument is a treasure for its sound, well seasoned timber and provenance. There is a tiny bit of wear to the artwork but, personally, I love the patina of a well played, older looking didgeridoo. The interior
bore is very clear and open which increases volume, harmonics, and
clarity of tone. A semi gloss finish protects the wood and artwork from
the
elements. Fitted with an organic beeswax mouthpiece sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). The mouthpiece can easily be adjusted to fit you perfectly.
Instructions included, no worries. Soundwise: Concert Quality
The tone in this BIG BORE didgeridoo is HAUNTINGLY EVOCATIVE with EARTHSHAKING BASS frequencies! It RUMBLES LIKE THUNDER with a deep, suspenseful drone that sonically transports you on a desert vision quest from the comfort of your armchair. Wordless vocals, animal calls, and light harmonic overtones blend perfectly within its LUSH, VIBRANT ACOUSTICS. Unlock those elusive rhythms trapped in the shimmering heat waves of your breath. This didgeridoo offers up deeply dubby vibes and it's easy to play, no dramas. A most excellent choice for someone that wants to add a low pitched, super harmonic, collectable didgeridoo to their quiver. Optimal medium-strong backpressure which helps to make the circular breathing technique easier (even for a novice). Please don't hesitate to contact us
