"Shadow River"
Performance Quality Didgeridoo
Crafted by Yidumduma "Bill" HarneyWatch a VIDEO demo of this didgeridoo below!

This warmly resonant, age-seasoned didgeridoo by Wardaman elder Yidumduma Bill Harney is a pure delight to play! Originally purchased by Ben Hicks directly from Bill in 2005, this didgeridoo is in very good condition and has no patches or repair work because it's never needed any. The mouthpiece is made from the dark, fragrant organic wax found on many instruments from this area of Arnhem Land. The artwork features a fish motif in Bill's wide, signature rarrk, or crosshatch lines.
Bill Harney (pictured at right) is an aboriginal elder, master storyteller, painter, and highly-respected Wardaman Dreamtime authority. For many Australian aborigines, dreaming is a way of being that is always informed by a spiritual presence. In the aboriginal concept of "The Dreaming," all life exists within a state that blends past, present and future simultaneously.
This didgeridoo is a treasure for its sound, well seasoned
timber, and provenance. There is a bit of wear to the artwork but, personally, I love the patina of a well played, older looking didgeridoo. The interior bore is very clear and open which
increases volume, harmonics, and clarity of tone. Features an organic beeswax mouthpiece sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). The mouthpiece can easily be adjusted to fit your perfectly, instructions included. Soundwise: Performance Quality
Sultry yet zestful with a traditional voice. The sonics are gruff and dirty. The age-seasoned bore offers up aggressive vocal distortion effects and whip-snapping response to tongued and diaphragmatic bursts. Ben Hicks says, "Purchased directly from Bill, I have enjoyed this instrument immensely and am reluctant to sell it, but I have another almost identical in all respects. Though Bill's playing style is unique, this didge is very mago like in character with stellar tonal balance, good bass resonance, moderate backpressure and nice vocal response. Just a solidly performing didge, and at this price a nice bargain!" Four easy horn tones, the first being warm against the drone and truly easy to hit. Optimal backpressure makes the circular breathing technique easier. Collectable and likely to find a home quickly so please don't hesitate to contact us
