"O-Ke-Wa "
Concert Quality Didgeridoo
Crafted by Tyler SpencerWatch a VIDEO demo of this didgeridoo below! "This insanely beautiful, RIPPER SOUNDING didgeridoo is made from a storm felled Indian peach tree. It's SUPER LOUD and capable of dropping in pitch from a perfect E down to low G! Tyler says, "I harvested this piece of wood off my uncle's property in the Willamette valley about six years ago, so it's had plenty of time to properly age cure and dry. The Honduran mahogany, padauk and bass wood mouthpiece has an interesting look with the angled design." Truly stellar, Ty, and these photos can't do it any justice. About the name I gave this didgeridoo... According to Stephen Hill from the "Hearts of Space" radio program, "O-Ke-Wa
is the Seneca Indian word for their dance for the dead. Performance of
the piece occurs in total darkness and is scored for 12 voices, bells,
rattles, and a low drum. The singers move continuously around the
audience in a slow procession chanting these words: "Whispering streams
of life, stirring far away, ripening earth in the wind. Soft history
soul songs, of dark murmuring Indians' dreams, vanishing in flights of
dust. Heavy wild herds in summer's vast echoes, and silky fields of air.
Geese scattering dawn light, grain over thunder; wispy, hidden graves." On this didgeridoo, Tyler has buffed the glossy resin shine down to a beautiful satin finish and hand oiled the outside for a natural look and feel. Features a smooth and comfortable mouthpiece made from layers of wood. No beeswax needed. Sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). This didgeridoo is waterproof, unaffected by hot or cold weather conditions, and very easy to care for, no worries.Soundwise: Concert Quality The outstanding playing characteristics of this didgeridoo is its range. The top end of the bore allows for an extremely punchy, percussive playing instrument. Advanced techniques such as jaw drops, pitch bends, horn toots and multi-drone feel welcome. It has a natural drone note in the key of E, but it bends down as low as G for jaw drop accents and multi-drone style. If you're interested in traditional Yolngu hard tongue style playing, this might be an ideal didgeridoo for you as well. Also, it delivers a C# first horn toot with an E drone note, which is rare, allowing for an interesting transition between the two and endless possibilities. Optimal strong backpressure for its size and pitch make the circular breathing technique easier. A superior instrument and a fine example of the kind of didgeridoo that has built up our reputation over the past 16 years. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Tyler made a
