Lucy was born near Jupiter Well in the Great Sandy Desert far to the
south of Balgo and close to the middle stretches of the Canning Stock
Route. Her childhood was mostly spent at places along the Canning Stock
Route. She is a Wangkajungka woman who lived in her traditional country, travelling with her family until she was a young woman.
This is Lucy's country a long way south of Balgo close to Punmu
in the Great Sandy Desert. This country is called Nyakungtjuungku and is
part of the artists dreaming. The central circle is a tjurrnu, or
soakwater, known as inta, or 'living water' as it always holds fresh
