This expertly crafted agave didgeridoo by Robert Remington is truly ONE OF A KIND! It's in the key of C and so ROBUST and VERSATILE yet VERY EASY TO PLAY. It has a tapered, comfortable mouthpiece made of
walnut, maple and purpleheart wood. A beautifully hand painted serpent runs nearly the length of the entire instrument (see photo at left for a close up). The style and colors of the snake remind of the Huichol bead art of north western Mexico. Before painting the snake, Robert stained this agave didgeridoo with a transparent black stain, so some of the natural agave patterns show through. Signed and
numbered by Robert. This is a
STUNNING didgeridoo with heaps of
character and a
BIG 4.25" bell at the bottom end.
retired from a career as a goldsmith and jewelry designer which he began
at the encouragement of his stepfather, the late
Frank Polk, a renowned
sculptor and founding member of the
Cowboy Artists of America. Robert’s
interest in the didgeridoo began after research into the proven health benefit
s of Didgeridoo Therapy for Sleep Apnea.
Having an extensive background in woodworking, he decided to craft his own
didgeridoos from native agave plants, abundant in the Southwestern
deserts of Arizona where Robert has lived for almost 50 years. This
instrument was carefully tuned and given its own artistic touch to make
it not only a quality player, but a true work of art. This didgeridoo is
very light in weight so you can easily take it along on walkabouts, to
drum circles, or jam sessions with friends. Double resin coated inside
and out for enhanced sound quality, luster and durability. Features a
smooth and comfortable solid mouthpiece that's been sanitized with
Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). No beeswax needed. This
didgeridoo is waterproof, unaffected by hot or cold weather conditions,
and very easy to care for, no worries.
Soundwise: Concert Quality
With heaps of breadth and depth, this didgeridoo generates a VIBRANT TONALITY. Temperate, fuzz-toned atmospherics give way to effervescent pop and sizzle on demand. Play it fast, moderate or meditation-slow –– it responds just as well to any tempo. The slinky, tapered bore and fairly thin walls make this didgeridoo SUPER RESONANT with perfectly balanced acoustics, strong bass frequencies and excellent vocal articulation. Dense, shape-shifting harmonic overtones and hot but sweet midrange sonics for heaps of versatility. Excellent response to both tongued and diaphragmatic riddims. Four easy horn tones, all warm against the drone. Optimal strong backpressure for its size and pitch making the circular breathing technique easeful.
