Crafted by Ron Manyita

The maker and painter of this didgeridoo, Ron Manyita, grew up on a remote outpost in Australia's Northern Territory. He learnt to paint by watching his father and uncle. His brothers Charles and Neil were quite well known for their paintings. In traditional Aboriginal society men or women are not classed as artists by virtue of their occupation –– all adults were expected to remember and to reproduce correctly the clan designs appropriate to their level of ritual training and knowledge. Nowadays,
not all men and women have that knowledge as it has not been passed
down to them. Ron, on the other hand, has learnt the rituals and
didgeridoo features a water serpent motif. To achieve the fine
rarrk, or crosshatch lines, Ron makes a brush from kangaroo hair or a
special grass he collects in the bush country. The basic colors of
white, yellow, red and black are used, and his paintings mostly depict
animals hunted for food. Sometimes his paintings show aspects of
mythology, spirit creatures of the rocky escarpment and, most
importantly, Dreamtime ancestors.
This handsome didgeridoo, circa 2003, was acquired from a fellow didgeridoo importer and has never been privately owned or played regularly. The timber is perfectly age-seasoned with no signs of repair ever needed. It looks and sounds as good as it did the day Ron finished it. It has a 3.25" bell on the bottom end. The interior bore is clear and open which increases volume, harmonics, and clarity of tone. The bell end has been expertly chiseled clean by Ron beyond what the termites had eaten, which opens up the sound even further. Fitted with an organic beeswax mouthpiece sanitized with Didgeri-Clean (tea tree and lavender oil). The mouthpiece can easily be adjusted to fit you perfectly.

This handsome didgeridoo delivers a VIBRANT ACOUSTIC incredible ease of rhythmic control and manipulation. Pitched in D with smoldering, serpentine dronewaves, Space Invader bleeps, and thumping bass. Vocal response is excellent in the mid to upper frequencies giving your animal sounds and distortion effects very good articulation. It offers good sensitivity to both tongued and diaphragmatic rhythms. Three easy horn tones, one warm and two bright against the drone. Optimal strong backpressure for its size and pitch makes the circular breathing technique easeful. A great addition to your didgeridoo quiver (or to get one started)! We suspect that it's not gonna last long around here to be sure. This instrument is bound to uptick in value in the coming years, especially as a huge segment of the U.S. population is becoming aware of finer quality didgeridoos and want their own connection to appreciate and preserve a shrinking supply of authentic vintage instruments. It's unknown how many more instruments like this one will appear for sale over the coming years, but it's safe to say that there won't be very many. And remember, this particular one has never been owned privately or played regularly –– such a find! Optimal strong backpressure for its size and pitch (making the circular breathing technique easier). Fine instruments of this ilk only come around every so often, so if you've been dreaming of owning a serious, well seasoned didgeridoo then take it away quickly or it'll be gone.
